13 Mar

On 12th December, despite the risky weather conditions at the time and the Tartan meal being initially postponed, the Al Dente Team were again able to produce an amazing meal for the staff, as a token of appreciation for all they do.

The year 13 pupils served as caterers for the event, which was held both in the learning zone and a marquee in the gym. The first course, the appetizers and drinks, were served in the marquee, which was suitably decorated to an eloquent gold and tartan ‘wintery’ look. Some of the pupils formed a small ‘welcome’ team by the doors to invite the staff in and there was always pupils ready to assist. The main course was served in the learning zone. The catering was very efficient, orderly and professional, ¬†and the whole procedure ran smoothly, helped by the fact that each of the staff were at a numbered seat and each table was assigned particular waiters responsible for keeping the staff well fed, watered and satisfied. The main meal menu offered an option of steak or salmon (with sides) both of which looked and tasted stunning. This was then followed by 3 options for desert, teas and coffees and a selection of chocolates and fudge. The staff were also each given a complimentary nougat gift to take home.

The staff seemed greatly appreciative of the meal and we received brilliant feedback. The time was very much enjoyed by both the helpers and the staff!
